Building Reviews (17)
Tenant:
We had a disappointing move-in experience that, hopefully, does not speak more broadly to the disorganization of the building management going forward. At move-in, we were provided with a detailed invoice of how much we owe before taking possession of the keys. When logging into the system to pay this invoice, we noticed discrepancies between the online system and the invoice. Specifically, the online system said we owed the full amenity fee (whereas the invoice said we had a half off discount we previously negotiated) and a pet fee (which was voided as "NA" in the invoice we were provided). We were confused and had the below email exchange, with dollar figures removed: Us: "We just completed electronic signature and submission of the lease. Just to confirm, by what date are we required to make the initial payments outlined in the attachment you previously sent? We logged into the MyUDR system and are noticing the charges do not match what was quoted in your attachment. Specifically, the amenity fee is still showing up as [XXX], and there is an additional [XXX] pet fee that was slotted as not applicable in the attachment (both of which we used as the basis of signing the lease). Could you help us resolve these amounts, and also the timing?"Leasing Office Employee: "Regarding payment please refer to your welcome home coast [sic] sheet and not what the website is indicating. You will have to manually enter the amount to make the payment."Two weeks after our move in, we get an email saying we did not pay the [XXX] pet fee and needed to make payment. We were confused, given the explicit email exchange above where we had proactively called it out and were told we would actually not need to pay it. We sent this exchange to building management and were provided the following response: Building Management: "I can understand the email communication was confusing. Our portal at move in sometimes can seem complicated, so [Leasing Office Employee] would always refer back to the cost sheet. However, she did not update the cost sheet to reflect the [XXX] pet fee. That being said, the pet fee is still [XXX] as per your signed lease agreement and that mount [sic] is due."This disorganization is very frustrating, and the explanation that their system is so confusing that their employee doesn't rely on it didn't help things. If we were told from the beginning when we explicitly flagged the discrepancy that we still owed the pet fee, we would have not been upset. However, when you a) are told unambiguously to disregard the amount in the system after you actively bring up the difference, and b) are then on top of that told to manually enter a different amount per a separate invoice saying pet fee is voided, it is very frustrating to then be told you actually owe a higher amount after the fact. It is a bit like telling a cashier "are you sure about this price because it is posted as different on the shelf?", being confirmed that yes you should completely disregard the shelf price, then having the store show up at your house 2 weeks later asking you to foot a multi-hundred dollar bill to something you had been explicitly told was voided. The fact that they wouldn't take responsibility for their mistake I think reflects very poorly on commercial professionalism.

- Friendly doormen - Helpful management team - Quick response time on apartment requests - Well maintained common areas (laundry room, gym, hallways)- Nice gym- Beautiful rooftop

It is my second year living in 21 Chelsea and I have had the greatest experience! The staff that works in the building, from the doormen to management, could not be more kind and helpful. Whatever problem I come across, whether I have a question with the amenities or I need help from the super, they are more than happy to assist! I also like the fact that everything can be done online (paying rent, submitting a service request, etc.) on their portal. Seaneeba and Lisa in the management office are always around to answer any questions I have which is always extremely helpful. The staff at 21 Chelsea always go above and beyond to try and make our living here the best experience possible.

We LOVE the building!! This is our second year living here. It's extremely well maintained and the staff and managers are very friendly and helpful. The roof and the gym are the best part. We love that the gym is on the roof and is a great apartment building gym. The roof offers great views of the city with plenty of seating and 2 grills! We love this building!
Tenant:
I lived at 21 Chelsea for over a year prior to moving to Los Angeles. It was incredible building to live in for several reasons. First off, the amenities are incredible. The roof is one of the best rooftops in Chelsea for not only the view but plenty of seating for tanning/entertaining. There are also two gas grills which were always maintained and frequently cleaned. The gym is located on the top floor with fantastic view of the NYC skyline and very bright. READ: NOT located in the basement. Plenty of updated machines and treadmills. I actually cancelled my Equinox membership since it was so great. In addition to the building amenities, the walls and windows were very well built resulting in almost 0 noise from neighbors. Finally and most importantly, the staff was great. Every entry into the building I not only felt safe and very welcomed. I would highly recommend anyone to 21 Chelsea!!

Loved it! Seaneeba was a wonderful guide and showed me several units and all of the awesome amenities that the building has to offer. My boyfriend and I are crossing our fingers that there are some available units when we move out of our current place in October.

I've been renting apartment in this building for about 1 year and my experience so far is absolutely great.Dan (the community director) and Seaneeba (leasing office) have been very helpful since before signing the lease and are always available providing an outstanding supportThe location is amazing and the building very well managed. If you are lucky enough to find availability for the apartment size you need you shouldn't think twice before applying

I wanted to speak to the outstanding customer service by Seaneeba Thompson and the apartment/building tour she gave me and my fiance a few weeks ago. This is hands down one of the friendliest, low pressure, informative tours I have ever experienced. She made us feel completely welcome and as we walked around the beautiful roof deck, so many tenants were saying hello to her and giving her hugs. I have never experienced something so nice when it comes to NYC Real Estate! She was super communicative about available units, got back to my emailed questions right away, etc. I would definitely recommend checking out 21 Chelsea because it is beautiful, centrally located, and the service (during a stressful situation in general) is exceptional!
Tenant:
Best experience. I was here as part of corporate living. LOVED the area and this building.

Viewing, applying to, and moving into 21 Chelsea has been the smoothest and the best(EST!) experience one can have in New York. Natalie Hribko, who helped my boyfriend and me, has been amazing to work with. We stumbled upon 21 Chelsea building while we were walking around the neighborhood in search of our (then) future place. While Natalie was busy with the viewing appointments when we walked in, she took time to greet us and handed us the printouts of the available units. We came in for our appointment the next day, which was informative but free of pushy/sales-y attitude.Applying for living in the building was extremely quick and smooth. It was nothing like the painful application process I went through in a nearby complex one year before (Herald Towers), which compared to applying for a visa to the USA in its intensity and the number of documents needed. Natalie's turn-around was usually 1-2 hours maximum, which was really fast of her, given she had many more applicants and residents who needed support. Moving in was easy as well - even though we arrived a bit late to our allocated elevator slot, the doorman was waiting for us and gladly let us use the elevator for as much as we needed that evening. Natalie left us a welcome package that included a lovely welcome greeting card. While we lived in the building for only several days, everyone we saw there was friendly. It seems that this is a place for happy people and we are excited to join this great community! Conclusion: if you can afford it, live here. The building has a great welcoming atmosphere which you can only in a place where the management team truly cares about the experience of the residents. Plus, you cannot beat the location. PS We fell in love with the modern appliances in the units, with lots of light in our apartment, with the rooftop and other amenities (gym is large and modern; the laundry room is very clean and neat).
Tenant:
I went to 21 Chelsea to look for an apartment for our daughter and her friend. We were greeted by a warm and friendly marketing associate named Natalie. Not only did Natalie make us feel that this would be a safe environment for our girls but she aligned with us as parents. We continued our search in the neighborhood and no one treated us the way that Natalie did. I feel like we are friends now. She obviously loves her job because it shows in the way that she conducts herself. I would recommend Natalie and I am so happy that we had the experience that we did! She was wonderful.
Tenant:
21 Chelsea is an awesome place to live. I lived here a few years and thoroughly enjoyed my time. Great doormen and maintenance crew that are all easily accessible for any potential issues that arise. Amazing roof deck, and good sized gym are nice perks as well.
Tenant:
21 Chelsea is a great building, with very professional management, and newly renovated laundry room, gym, rooftop, elevators, etc. The management is always looking for ways to improve the building, which as a resident, is much appreciated. They also encourage gatherings such as holiday parties, super bowl parties, etc. either at the rooftop (which is BEAUTIFUL with incredible views) or the Resident Lounge. Maintenance is quick to respond to any issues within the apartment. Also very convenient location near Trader Joes, public transportation and really anything you could need!
Tenant:
21 Chelsea is a great place to live. We have researched a lot of similar buildings in the area and feel that you really get what you pay for. Some of the amenities that come with the rent - beautiful rooftop, gym, community lounge and bike storage. I have seen some other buildings charge extra for these things so it's nice there is no additional fee. The apartments are also a decent size. The particular unit we live in has great closet space. The building seems to be built pretty well too because we rarely hear our neighbors- whether on both sides of us or even above. The management is very friendly and I have no complaints about the building staff. They are always responsive whenever you need anything. The location is also convenient in that it is right across the street from Trader Joe's and just blocks away from Whole Foods, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Michael's. The nice part is that it's convenient but also quiet. This place is really a hidden gem.
Tenant:
I've been living happily in 21 Chelsea for 6 years and I've just renewed my lease for another year. I've always felt welcomed in the building and anytime I had an issue or needed help I've been promptly answered. The staff is extremely friendly and efficient and they keep the building clean and efficient. By the way, it keeis gettung better with improvements all the time. Needless to say that I highly recommend anyone to live in the building.
Tenant:
I'm so happy living at 21 chelsea! I recently moved here in August and I'm very satisfied with my decision. The building is incredible. The leasing agents are super genuine and helpful throughout the process and whenever tenants need anything. The location of the building helps too. I highly recommend the building!
Tenant:
I have been living here for 2 years and just renewed my lease for a 3rd year. The building is amazing with all the amenities you need and new one always getting added. Gorgeous rooftop with huge TV, lounge area, tanning chairs, BBQ. Full gym. Lounge in the lobby (which you can rent out for events). The management and staff are the best, very attentive and quick to respond to any problems. Price is super worth it, as new things and renovations get added all the time and just knowing that management is reliable and timely gives you peace of mind. Location is also super (Trader Joes in the corner and 2 other supermarkets within 6 blocks). There are also a few subway stations just 1-2 blocks away. I really have no complaints it's an amazing place to live.
