I was in the elevator with one of the doormen a few days ago. It was a Sunday and I was wiped out and in a foul mood. I said to him "Man, working on Sunday. Rough huh."He said "You kidding me? My job is hanging out with and looking out for a couple hundred of the kindest, most interesting families in NYC. I love my job."He wasn't just saying that and it really, really shows in everything these guys do.
Tenant:
We were told a day after we signed our lease there would be scaffolding up and renovations for 6-8 weeks. It's 8 weeks later and now the construction workers are saying that it will be 6 months and no ROOF for the summer. We are extremely disappointed they did not disclose this before the lease signing.

I lived here for several years in a great apartment. However the building isn't run well. Poor management and poor security.

The Saturday morning doorman is very rude. I was making a delivery for a Conceirge company, that my company partners with. I approached the main entrance and told the doorman I have a delivery, without even looking at me and giving me the courtesy he immediately dismissed me and told me to go to the service entrance. I told him it would be nice if he could at least look at me and treat me as if I were human and deserving of respect. He said "I don't have to, English is English" WHAT!?!? He's probably used to talking to delivery and maintenance people like that!!! As I went through the revolving door to leave he hurriedly pushed the doors almost damaging my delicate delivery items in the process. I yelled "Excuse me! don't do that!" He stopped and said "Are you finished? are you done yet?" Instead of continuing to argue I just took out my phone and snapped. I didn't have time to be attacked and go back and forth trying to explain how he should be polite, I knew I could express my disappointment online with lasting results. Regardless of who comes to your property EVERYONE deserves respect. I could have been a friend of the resident just coming from shopping and not a delivery man!! Glenwood Management would do well to discuss the basic tenets of doormanship with him so others visitors to the property aren't subject to the same demoralizing treatment!
Tenant:
Great location, very courteous staff (the best!) and great amenities. Building is also very clean and well maintained.
Cons:However, the building is not a smoke free environment and it seems like people smoke drugs quite often. Management was helpful adding an additional layer of insulation around unit door to prevent odor from coming into apt. but that is as much as they can really do considering current smoking rules. Despite all the great pros, and there are many, this issue alone warrants consideration especially for people with families.
Tenant:
First a disclaimer: I live there now and I am biased! Okay, with that out of the way, I have to say it's a nice place to live on the city. The apartments are relatively modern and very, very clean. The staff is pretty god for the most part and it had good access to the highway and there is both a private shuttle and the x86 bus to the 4, 5, and 6 train
Tenant:
We've been living in the building for over 4 years. The building itself is nice and so was the initial state of the apartment; however once the appliances break, they replace them with the old ones that break again shortly thereafter (not to mention they are discusting and need to be thoroughly cleaned). In addition, they do not fix the hardwood floors after 3 years that now after 4 years look horrible. Considering how expensive the building is, the apartments should be kept up in a pristine state and appliances changed to new every 3 years. But that's not the case; thus we will be looking for a different building next year.
Tenant:
LB Recently Moved In. Huge "Roaches. Office Manager claims weekly exterminating individual apartments " won't help".. ..Let me know when you see the roaches.. then we will send in an exterminator".. Lovely..

Experienced firsthand what people meant when they said to stay away from Glenwood Management buildings, especially the Fairmont. A bunch of arrogant, pompous nobodies, you'd think they'd know how to conduct themselves in a professional manner and want the business from anyone willing to pay for their crappy overpriced unit. Incredibly disgusting attitudes, mainly that spineless male creature that works in the leasing office. Oh and did I mention the numerous complaint and violations the building currently has? Noise Complaints CHECKFilth Complaints YOU GOT ITConstruction Complaints YUPAnd as the previous review already stated if you'd like no heat for a full season, no hot water, and a very long list of other issues to add to your everyday life than by all means rent with them. Why bother going to the fairmont when there's so many new builds in the area.
