Concrete busting happening in adjacent apartments. I know that Renovations should take 4 months, with only 2 weeks of real noise. Not here... concrete busting still happening after 4 months of living there. drilling and hammering after 5 months. Workers play loud music and sing. Workers busted through our shared wall once. And our neighbors over 5 times! Someone else told me that they busted through their ceiling. They hammered so hard on a shared pipe, that it busted and flooded our apartment. The hallway is alway lined with toxic thick plastic and smells. Aside from many more neighboring construction issues, the apartment itself was full of CRAPmanship. Everything looked nice, but once moved in we notice toilets were not at normal heights, they were 5 to 7 inches higher than a standard height. Very uncomfortable. The floor had a nail sticking up and started to separate as soon as we moved in. Very cheap poorly done floor. Same with tiles on kitchen backsplash and bathrooms. Shower leaked due to improperly installed shower door. They never fixed it. Same with the balcony door, had them over 4 times come by to fix it, since the handle kept falling off, always. Fixed temporarily and broke again. The holes just did not line up and unless completely replaced just kept falling off, so the balcony door never shut completely.... drafty. Also the windows are drafty and two were incredibly difficult to open without it separating from the groove. So we never open them. Windows are thin and noise from street was very audible. For advertising "luxury" apartments I would expect much much more in quality. Also evelator was too small for us to bring large couches with taking them apart.... not luxury size. Prewar brownstone size elevators (ceiling height). Not worth it. I would not even suggest living there for free. It is toxic with construction dust and impossible to live in while construction is happening.
