Former Tenant: 2019 - 2021

Pros:

This place looks beautiful and then you live there and it s a disaster! Run!

Cons:

I moved into a unit at this apartment building right before covid hit. I had a six figure job with all of the references for a supposed easy move in. The leasing office then told me I had to pay and extra insurance company thousands of dollars on top of the 15k I already was required to move in. By the way I soon realized they own the insurance company and it covers nothing. Fast forward to moving in and the building and services were a complete nightmare. No one knows what is going on. If you ever want something done in this building you better plan on a week wait. They don't have enough staff to take care of the endless units and problems. So 3 months in Covid hits and I try to get out of the lease. They act like no problem.... take your time if you need it. Then out of no where they are demanding the rent. We are in the middle of a pandemic. I wrote in numerous times just to be ignored and then told no matter what I would owe the entire lease amount. They said it stated that in the "fake" insurance they sold me. I am covered by nothing and owe all the money So they basically covered their asses and made sure to screw me over regardless if I left or not. This building is a complete joke. Nothing is what it seems and I have never had a worst experience living anywhere. I want to expose their illegal insurance practice as I'm sure they have done to many others. This is a illegal and misleading and a complete con job!!!! DO NOT LIVE AT SKY!!! It's a complete nightmare!!!!

Cons:

Leasing office staff are not knowledgeable.Management office staff are not helpful and extremely slow to address residents' concern/issues.Management does not enforce non-smoking policy. Cigarette smoke comes through the vents on regular basis. Be cautious if you are planning on having kids living in the building.Airbnb is prevalent here - a lot of strangers.

Pros:

I've lived in several different buildings during my ~5years in the city, and SKY has been by far the best experience I've had. There seems to be some negative reviews which is a huge bummer. I've only had good experiences during my 2 years in the building. The doormen are the nicest and most accommodating I've come across. They have become not just doormen, but also a friend. They are always in a good mood and willing to help whenever possible. The maintenance guys are extremely responsive to issues/repairs. I have never had to wait longer than two days, even for repairs requiring new parts. The leasing office has also been easy to deal with to address questions.Thank you SKY!

Tenant:

Pros:

I love the location and the building is very luxurious. We deal with a few neighbors who feel over privileged from time to time but other than that it is a great place and I have met a lot of wonderful people from the staff to neighbors. I've seen reviews of people complaining of smoke smell but I would say the smell of food cooking is more prevalent.

Tenant:

Pros:

Beautiful apartments and excellent location.

Cons:

The police are constantly at the building due to major narcotics issue among the tenants. Pot smoking is prevalent and stinks up many of the floors. Many of the tenants also smoke in their apartments despite the lease saying that it is prohibited. The smell of pot and cigarettes often seeps to other apartments so you can often count on that aroma to permeate your clothes and home. Air BnB happens here very often. The clients show up and often say that's why they are here.Management gives the front desk folks mixed signals about how to handle the pot, smoking, and Air BnB issues.Management does little to nothing about this. This is one of the most expensive buildings in the area yet is run like a halfway house. Choose carefully. The gym is crazy expensive, lacks some basic equipment and you will find disgusting hair and massive dirt behind and around each machine. The pool price goes up 40% every year with no added benefits to the members.

Pros:

I am very happy living at Sky. It is one of the best places in Midtown. The staff is friendly as well.

Cons:

The only complain I have is that it has taken a long time to fix an issue I have with my kitchen. I hope they fix it soon!

Pros:

I'm a Resident of Sky in 22C and I've lived here now 1 year and some months and I love the welcome of coming home to kind hearted professionals. There is comfort and happiness filled with warmth and compassion. It's truly a blessing living here.

Tenant:

Pros:

I have lived at sky for about a year now. I have a 2 br 2bath. I have two children and we fit comfortably, it's definitely smaller than my last apartment but nothing can beat the view. I have had minimal encounters with the management staff but they seem friendly enough. The concierge, mailroom, maintenance, doorman and everyone else are very friendly and helpful. I have heard other tenants complaining about being treated rudely but I honestly have always had pleasurable encounters with the staff. The building it's self is gorgeous and all of the amenities (most I can't afford) are great I can assume. There is a park on the 10th floor that is nice for lounging and catching some sun.

Cons:

The only downside is having to use a key fob to access the elevator it is extremely annoying especially when you're carrying bags or boxes and can't get to the fob in time. I get the need for security because there are a ton of celebrities and athletes that live here but it's still pretty annoying.

Pros:

Absolutely love love love living at sky, I've lived in Manhattan my whole life (25 years) this has been the most outstanding place to live, its very convenient to everything, trains, bus's, diners, restaurants, bars, clubs, supermarket exc... doormen/ every person that works there that I've encountered really goes out there way to help you, listen to you or anything you need. I'm in a spacious studio which I love couldn't have asked for anything else in life

Tenant:

Cons:

My friend's apartment is very expensive and seems rather cookie-cutter. The building is often very busy with ABB, units being shown, visitors, etc... Feels like you are in a hotel the day of a convention, not a very chill place to live imo.

Tenant:

Pros:

Probably the best apartment to live in midtown. We checked the property out twice that's how much I was interested in leasing. The leasing office was extremely nice and took the time to show us around and answered all our questions. It is however one of the most expensive places I've seen in midtown. The one bedroom which seemed affordable was very extremely small. The Amenities are beyond believable - swimming, sauna, gym, classes etc. pretty cool place to live!

Cons:

Approximately 1-2 month before your lease end you will receive this email from their leasing team tell you that according to the lease you signed. They have the legal right to enter your apartment Monday to Friday 12pm-5pm with no other notice for house showing. After I called this really " nice" leasing manager Grady, he told me that he is actually doing me a favor because according to the lease they are allowed to enter the apartment 7-24 with no notice and he decided to give me a brake on the weekend. Thanks god I have a lawyer so I called my lawyer and find out he is absolutely lying. They can only enter your apartment on Monday-Friday with a 24 hours notice. After speaking with other people live in this "Luxury building" serval people has been though this issue, some guy from the leasing just use their key to enter you apartment when and however they want to show the apartment to potential clients. And tell you it's according to the lease you signed, I'm thinking about filling a lawsuit against them, if anyone else live here has been though this kind of issue please contact me.

Cons:

Sky is extremely inconsiderate of neighbors and tenets, blasting house music in outdoor spaces in the middle of the day while said spaces aren't even in use. Not everyone works in an office and wants to feel like they're in a club ALL DAY. On occasion the music will play for days on end as well as all night. When you complain you are told it will be turned off but never is. This place is run by a bunch of jerks.

Cons:

Sky is horribly inconsiderate of tenants and other buildings nearby. Why do they need to be so ostentatious to Scream, "We are here!" with the blaring neon lights for all to see. The outdoor lights are horrible. Who wants to live in Times Square??? Horrible!

Pros:

I am shocked at some of these negative reviews. My experience living at Sky has been extraordinary and I couldn't be happier with my apartment. The front desk staff and doormen are incredibly kind and accommodating. The highlight is of course my BEAUTIFUL apartment with exceptional views from a balcony - I simply love coming home everyday to such a stunning space. Everything is brand new and the amenities offered at Lifetime cannot be matched. While there are a few problems with management, I truly believe the good outweighs the bad at Sky and most people are extremely happy here!!

Cons:

After having to review tenant law I come to find NYC ALLOWS roommates not on the lease. I let the management company know and they want to charge an extra $750 to have an occupant. The law states:(b) "Occupant" means a person, other than a tenant or a member of a tenant's immediate family, occupying a premises with the consent of the tenant or tenants.2. It shall be unlawful for a landlord to restrict occupancy of residential premises, by express lease terms or otherwise, to a tenant or tenants or to such tenants and immediate family. Any such restriction in a lease or rental agreement entered into or renewed before or after the effective date of this section shall be unenforceable as against public policy.3. Any lease or rental agreement for residential premises entered into by one tenant shall be construed to permit occupancy by the tenant, immediate family of the tenant, one additional occupant, and dependent children of the occupant provided that the tenant or the tenant's spouse occupies the premises as his primary residence."Any additional fee appears to be a restriction...I recommend staying away from the Moinian Group properties.Moinian Group residential rentals include the following list. Nearly all have 1 star complaining about the poor management company. Save yourself the headache.-Sky-Marc-Biltmore-90W-Ocean-Renaissance

Pros:

My sister and I live together in a two-bedroom apartment at Sky and absolutely love it here. The building staff is amazing. They go out of their way every day to be helpful and solve any problems that arise. All of the apartments are brand new and well sized. Plus, we have a balcony and the views are AMAZING. We love our apartment so much that we even convinced our other sister to move in two doors down on the same floor. Her studio is spacious with equally gorgeous views.During my apartment search, I looked at Atelier and Silver Towers and I liked Sky WAY better than both. Atelier is falling apart and the amenities in the basement smell awful. Management must have given up all together. Silver Towers is nice and the amenities seem well cared for but, for about the same price, I chose to live at Sky where the views and amenities are better and everything is brand new. My favorite amenity at Sky is Lifetime Fitness located on floor 11. I use the fitness center and the water club every day. The water club is amazing and includes a sauna, a giant steam room, a cold pool, a hot tub, and a rain shower. One of my favorite parts of Lifetime Fitness is the sunny outdoor pool. There is nothing like it in NYC. The pool has a strict guest policy and isn't overly crowded on weekends. While hanging at the pool, I love ordering food and beer/wine/smoothies/so on from the Life Cafe. The Cafe has a delicious/healthy menu plus nothing is better than relaxing by the pool, soaking in the sun, and sipping on a chilled glass of wine. Some other cool amenities include lightening fast elevators (I get to floor 54 in seconds), valet service (packages, dry cleaning, so on), giant outdoor space, doggy center, and daily breakfast/coffee.There are negative elements to every apartment building but I think the positive elements of Sky drastically outweigh the negative. The disgruntled reviews on Yelp that I have read do not represent the views of the majority of people who live here. Everyone I have spoken to (on the elevator, at the gym, at the pool, so on) love it! I highly recommend stopping by for a tour. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Pros:

The Sky Buildings greatest asset is the team at The Desk of First Impressions. Yes, there is location, amenities and rental views. However, my husband and I have found the most value in the People. Maria, Zuzana, Daniel, Judd, Lance, Marlon, Peter and Rolando are absolutely amazing. Everyone is kind, courteous, attentive, engaging and simply funny. Each day, we have been greeted with a smile which has made a difference for us living at The Sky. We love having this group of people an active part of our lives.Congratulations on having an Stella team and of course, a great property.Charles and Paolo Montorio Archer

Pros:

Otherwise the apartment itself is nice and the staff has been great.

Cons:

We decided this was a good fit for us for several reasons:*they were including all amenities free for 6 months - they lied. Read the lease again, still think this was a material misrepresentation that could cost the building thousands of dollars if the tenants decide to organize.*construction would be complete in January - they lied. Think multiple nights of construction ropes banging against your window at 2 am in the morning. This has happened 6 or 7 times now and has only been remedied after two hours. This is an easy fix and people are pissed, make your construction company tie the ropes correctly...*shuttles were to be running every day - they lied. One shuttle every 45 minutes that is already crowded with the building occupancy at 30 percent capacity. Imagine how awesome it will be at full capacity.*smoke free building. I cannot say they have lied here but our apartment has been invaded by second hand smoke on multiple occasions and has not currently been remedied. A recent decision ruled that this is a breach of the warranty of habitability.

Sorry, very sad to post this one star review. I am very patient but the management truly sucks. They claim they will open the amenities in March. However, the amenities finally opened in June. They start to sell this apt before construction completed. I moved in in mid Feb. they have enormous construction workers in the building for at least three months. It's ok, is all ok. Something not ok is the quality of this building. Since is a new rental, my apt has extremely loudly noises when the weather is windy. Handyman from the building does not know how to fix it. They just leave it like there. They cannot figure it out what's wrong. The reason I post this review is that management does not even care about their residents. This is fourth time that their construction left the rope outside the window. When the wind blows like today, it woke me up in midnight. No one is able to help. No apologies from management. Never! In case I will upload videos so you can hear that noise. Is impossible to sleep and they don't care! They made the same mistake again and again! Now is your choice to choose live in this "luxury apt" or notyoutu.be/OynxrOgVXjc

I moved into Sky about a month ago and everything is perfect. From the outdoor pools to the park - Sky has everything I need. The staff is super friendly and welcomes me home every time I walk in. It's also very cool to see the NBA players playing at the basketball court everyday. Go Knicks!

Cons:

Worst management and services I've ever had. First of all, they have all kinds of rules regarding to moving including an umbrella liability insurance from the furniture store. Secondly, you cannot get your package after 10:00 pm. Thirdly, when I visit the building for the first time, I was told they have shuttle bus to time square while it turned out to be only 1 shuttle bus coming back and forth...which is super inconvenient given the location....would not recommend to anyone...

Pros:

Will be great when they actually finish, but right now they are basically letting you move in, while the place is still a construction site. You do get a few incentives, but at this pace, you'll still be paying the full rent price while living on an active construction site
