Management Notes and FAQs

Rent will cover your fully furnished room (including new towels & linens), all utilities (electricity, gas, heat, water, and WiFi under the utility cap), as well as monthly cleaning of the common areas.

While we love animals, we want to be respectful of members who may be allergic or feel uncomfortable with having them in the apartment. For this reason, we do not allow pets in our units with over 1 bedroom.

Couples are only accepted for studios & 1 Bedroom units.

While the rent is non-negotiable, we have numerous options with prices that vary based on location & length of stay.

We can provide basic information like gender, age, and occupation. While keeping your potential roommates' privacy in mind, we will tell you as much as possible to ensure you feel comfortable with your new living dynamic!

Roomrs is a co-living community, and we are proud of how diverse our community is. We do our best to accommodate all requests to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible. With that being said, there is no guarantee regarding who your roommates will be, However, all members are carefully screened and background checked prior to their approval.

All members are required to pay a security deposit to ensure the safety of our units during their stay. The deposit is held as a safety measure and returned within 14 days of moving out assuming there is no damage to the room, and no rent is owed.

The enrollment fee, literally, enrolls you into Roomrs! As a member you'll have access to all of our rooms across Manhattan & Brooklyn, making moving as seamless as possible. This fee will be refunded if you are not approved by our community.

The application fee covers the cost of your initial application and background check. The enrollment fee is a one-time fee you pay to enter our community and gain access to all of our rooms. Both of these are a one-time fee and you will not be charged for them again. Even if you decide to transfer rooms or renew your lease!

Once you have found a room you are in love with, you can start by paying the enrollment fee. Once this has been processed the room will be taken off the market and you will receive a link to begin the application.

Our lease terms are flexible and can range anywhere between 3-12 months.

Yes! You can transfer to any other available room at any time during your lease. For the first 30 days of your stay, you can do this for no charge. Beyond that 30 days, you will incur a $250 Transfer Fee.

Because each apartment varies in size and amenities, we cannot supply unique lists of included furnishings. With that being said, you can expect all necessary furniture to be provided, as well as art, basic kitchenware, and new sheets and towels. Our design team has done an amazing job with all our rooms, and we encourage you to view our virtual tours to see how each apartment has been uniquely decorated!

During the monthly clean you can expect all common spaces to be thoroughly cleaned. Bedroom cleanings will only occur to prepare your room for move-in!

Maintenance issues are the responsibility of the individual building's landlord, so your first contact should be the Super. Having said that, Roomrs is here to be your advocate during your time with us. If you are having trouble getting in touch with the landlord, having issues related to furniture or roommates, or have any general questions please email us at support@roomrs.co, and our support team will assist you!

Although you can not remove any items from the apartment, we want you to customize your space how you and your roommates see fit! All additions to the apartment will just need to be removed upon move-out and no damages can be made in the process.

The safety and comfortability of our members are of the utmost importance, and therefore we have decided to make all tours virtual.

In order to make your move-in experience as seamless as possible, we have taken detailed, pre-recorded, 3D tours that will allow you to walk through the apartment as if you were actually there. These tours can be viewed at any time on our website, however, we always encourage prospective members to schedule a virtual tour with one of our representatives so that we can get to know each other and answer any concerns you may have!

All Roomrs members pay a $125/month membership fee that is already included as part of the rent you see listed online. You may also incur an additional ‘Flex Fee’ depending on the length of your lease.

For 3-5 months: $125/month
For 6-9 months: $75/month

Roomrs is all about being green! We want to provide a positive experience for you and the environment! Your unit will have an electricity cap based on the average electric usage of units the same size. If you and your new roommates go over this cap, the overage will be divided between the roommates.

Yes! 60 days before your lease ends you will receive an email from management providing the option to extend your lease. You will be able to renew your lease for an additional 3-12 months at your current location, or a new one if you prefer.
